'STREAMS OF MY PAST'

Sparkling and glassy was the stream of my past
It was but shallow though vast
Shallow enough to restrict depths of agony
To say it contained dirt or black earth would be an irony
Flourishing; it did in its season, until it dried up for no reason
I sat all long waiting for its return
If my stream was coming back; I was never sure
Seasons rolled by and I grew tired of the shore.
Strolling up this lonely path of mine, I heard splashes against the rocky earth
I looked around; trying to figure out the source
I was happy; hoping to replace my loss
Here in my new found love, I see a replica of me
A glassy surface revealing the beautiful me
My stream is not just beautiful, but also resourceful
I'll just enjoy it while it lasts, because it will soon be like my past's

PREGNANT SEASON

Tick Tick, Tick Tick
the sound of time
night to day
darkness to light

joyful noise rent the air
season greetings is all I hear
happy children dance and scream
the elders are chasing their dreams

many lips resolution
but few realization
thousand seeds planted
watering hands are dry

As the new dawn unfolds
pursue your dreams and don't faint
its a new season
A season pregnant with greatness
                 HAPPY NEW YEAR

WHO AM I?

Official! WHO AM I? By Akande David Oluwadamilola (D-Plus). This work is dedicated to God almighty for adding another year to my years on earth today.
I  was homeless
Your arms my refuge
I was thirsty
Your living spring quenched my thirst
I had no cloths
Your Glory covered me

I walked on snakes and serpents
I felt no pain
I was nothing
You gave me everything
I drank water in the desert
I reaped plenty during famine

They call me barren
You made me fruitful
A simple question for everyone

Minus his grace, WHO AM I?

'GREAT FATHERLAND'

This poem is dedicated to my 'GREAT FATHERLAND' NIGERIA on her 54th Independence anniversary. God bless NIGERIA

Great Fatherland Arise!
It is a brand new year
Wipe away yesterday’s tears
It is a new dawn, Arise!

The white merchants are gone but
I see their scars all over
Dream less of the past
The future is bright

Your children are crying
Wipe their tears
Your loved ones are dying
Save their lives

Great Fatherland Arise!
Stop them from  looting
Stop the killing
Stop tribalism
Stop the bombing
Let religious crisis stop

Great Fatherland Arise!
Tie your children like a broom
In unity is our growth
Great Fatherland, let peace reign

Great Fatherland Arise!
I believe in you
Wake up from your slumber
The future is BRIGHT and BEAUTIFUL
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA, MAY GOD CONTINUE TO ENLARGE YOUR COAST

'RIGHT MAN'

Don't cry about now

today may be painful

tomorrow will be gainful

forget who you are now

think of who you can be

doubt not your ability

re-brand your thoughts

far is the journey

vision will take you there

don't kill your inner man

he is the right man

NOW

‘NOW’
The time is now
Discover yourself now
Your mind is a treasure, explore it now
That little idea can fetch you billions, use it now
Think right now
He needs your help, help him now
She is tired of life, encourage her now
You are not born empty, think big now
You love her truly, tell her now
He doesn’t add value to you, leave him now
Don’t procrastinate, do it now
No one is better than you, believe in yourself now
Don’t be afraid, stand firm now
The time is now
Give your life to Christ now
